This was dives 29 and 30 My dive buddy was Gary a guy from the club.
I was in A dry suit with a 12 litre tank with 240 bar of air. It was
sunny and the water was quite clear for this dive location. The dive started
at 09:30 and finished at 09:54 which gave us a bottom time of 24 minutes.
We found the boat and the car (A METRO) we also found the forest but we did
not see any pike which was good. We looked for the bus but the water was murky
by then and we could not find it.

The second dive started 0ne hour twenty three mintues later. We entered the water and
it was clear that the visibilty was bad infact we were on the the bottem and we could not see
the bottem. We swam around trying not to lose each other but it was hard to see anything
so we aborted the dive after just 15 minutes. but it was still a good day and my first dives
in a long time.

This was my first dive out side the uk and proved to be a great dive. We did this dive as a
shake down dive and I entered the water from the shore as all the dives were shore dives. I
tryed to go down but needed more weight. The dive master with us gave me some and after that
there was no problem. I went down to 22.6 meters the visibilty was about 30 meters. The water
was cold but this was not a problem. We started the dive at 11:07 with 200 bar of air. I did not
see alot of sea life but there was a vast assortment of coral. There were some amazing fan corals
I have only ever seen them in pictures before. The dive lasted for 32 minutes and I had 30 bar of air left.
LocationEl Magana (Red Sea)
The second dive started two hours seventeen minutes later and I went in with 210 bar of air and my max depth
was 16.7 meters. This was a much better dive and I was more relaxed. The real high light of this dive was that
we saw an Octopus. The othere in the water with me were making signs to come other and look. At first all I
could see was rock. Then part of the rock moved and changed colour. Then it slid down the rock that it had been on
and you could see the real Octopus shape. I watched it for a good five mintues just hovering above all those taking p
pictures. There was alot of coral again and the water was clear. The dive lasted for 46 mintues and I had hoped to join
the 60 minute club.

This was a better dive but it was a sandy beach I have never dived from sand before. It was ok but again it was not what I had imagined
There were many corals as before and somw large fan corals. I saw sea live and had a bottem time of 26 mins and a max depth of 27.8 meters (oops)
Some of the group went to 30 meyers while I was meant to stay at 18 meters. There were some large corals standing up from the bottom. We saw a baby blue spotted
ray. I saw number of Two Bar Anemonefish. And two Black Spotted Pufferfish. I also saw my first Turkyfish. It looked very graceful.
The second dive took place Three hours and Tewenty seven minutes later the max depth was 12 meters and again there was some coral and much the same ammount of fish.
I had a bottem time of 40 mins. On this dive I saw a lot of Emperor fish.

This was AOW Deep dive and the second time I have done it. There were two of us doing the deep dive. We had been told at the briefing that we would find a ledge at 30 meters.
We swam out to were the bottom is 7 meters. We dropped down and waited for every one to sort themselfs out. We then split up and went along the coral there was better than anywhere
else we dived. We came to a wall which you had to go down. The bottom was 600 meters deep. We glided down the wall there was our dive Instructor (Freddy Woods) and one of our (Dive Masters)
and me and another student. I could feel the pressure on my regulator. We got down to 30 meters but did not find the ledge so we had to hang mid water. I rmember looking out all I could see was Blue
it seemed to be lighter on the outside and deeper blue as it came in to the center of my vision. We could see 30 meters up and down. I avoided looking up because my bouyancy control went wrong when I did.
We were not there for long but we had to do our sums. Once we had finished we Came to a shallower depth. I remember looking at a huge fan coral it must have been 3 meters accross. There was a Puffer Fish
hanging around one of the corals. We were coming back to shore this was a great dive. This dive also ment that I had passed my AOW.
Second Dive of day This was alot shallower than last dive I had along time on the surface. We went down to 17.1 meters for about 46 mins the visabilty was good. I saw a lot and knew that now I could dive deeper.
I did well on my air this dive. This dive made me break the 20 hr barrier. As on the last dive there was large corals but sea life was scarce again. I thought that there would be lots of live in the red sea.

Once again at the first dive site but this was not good as we had dived here before. I do remeber near the end of my dive swimming along at 4 meters in some warm water. There was once again a shortage of sea life.Date 29/03/2000
LocationRas Sl Sleton (Red Sea)
The visabilty was very bad on this dive It reminded me of a good day at some sites in the uk. The dive lasted for 47 minutes and had a max depth of 23 meters. Idid see a number of Turkey fish and there was a Wrasse
but it was only seen through the gloom. There was a moray eel in its hole. There were a number of fish black with a white spot near there tail. I never did find out what fish they were. I also saw my firat and only Unicornfish.
There was alot of coral and some that looked like cabbages.

blue fish. and again lots of coral.

My first dive back in the uk was at horsea this is an old torpedo testing range. It is not deep and can be murky. The first dive was ok it lasted for only 20 minutes but the water was
very murky. We did find the armoured vericle ir whats left of it. Our max depth was less than 6 meters.
Date 22/04/2000
LocationHorsea
The next dive the water was murky because of the ammount of people in the water. on this dive Gary ( My Buddy ) my buddy swam through the boat I did not. I navigated to the Land Rover and went inside but it was a little too murky and
I had no tourch so I got out. This was a long dive annd it lasted for 39 minutes. and our max depth was 6 meters and the water was 10 degrees. We looked for the helicopter but just could not find it.

LocationHorsea
On this dive we found the helicopter and spent 20 minutes diving on it the water was murky and the dive lasted for 47 minutes we also found the mine and decompresion chamber. Not a bad dive but
we were feeling the cold.
